ASME SA268 standard covers both seamless and welded pipes, primarily for general use in medium- and high-temperature corrosive environments.

 

ASME SA268 TP410 stainless steel Bright Annealed pipe achieves a wide range of mechanical properties, from high toughness to high hardness, through quenching (oil or air cooling) and tempering. This offers excellent heat-treatment properties. However, TP410 seamless stainless steel pipe generally exhibits poor weldability. Improper welding or post-weld heat treatment can easily produce a hard and brittle martensitic structure, increasing the risk of cracking in the weld area. Preheating and post-weld treatment are often required, especially for thicker TP410 seamless stainless steel pipe.

 

ASTM A268 TP410 seamless stainless steel pipe is suitable for a variety of applications requiring high strength and durability, including heat exchangers, condensers, and general corrosion-resistant equipment in high-temperature environments.

Applications of ASME SA268 TP410 Stainless Steel Pipe

Automotive Industry: In the automotive industry, ASTM A268 TP410 stainless steel round pipe can be used for fuel pipes, oil pipes, hydraulic pipes, and exhaust system components. However, high-temperature oxidation and condensation corrosion should be considered.

Petrochemical and Energy: ASTM A268 TP410 stainless steel pipe can be used for instrumentation pipes, heat tracing pipes, boiler feed water pipes, and heat exchanger tubes in mildly corrosive environments. However, water quality and chloride content should be considered.

Mechanical Manufacturing: In mechanical manufacturing, ASTM A268 TP410 seamless stainless steel pipe can be used for hydraulic and pneumatic system piping, bearing sleeves, wear-resistant components (after heat treatment), and shafts.

General Engineering: ASTM A268 TP410 welded pipe can be used in general industrial engineering for structural components, supports, and fasteners requiring moderate corrosion resistance and a certain℃of strength.

Packaged in bales or laminated wooden crates, wrapped in plastic, and appropriately protected to ensure seaworthiness for transport, or as required.
Marking must comply with Specification A1016/A1016M. Marking must include information on whether the pipe is hot-finished or cold-finished, including but not limited to: standard, grade, size, heat number, and batch number.
